With a dedicated team of Beam’s engineers, product managers, designers, and support staff, you’ll help design and test new AI tools - and share what you learn with the wider sector.

Who can apply?
Applications for our Labs are now closed, but you can still get involved by suggesting an idea for a Lab using this form.
Is this just another pilot?
No. Labs are not standalone pilots of existing products, but the co-design of new ones. Everything built in Labs feeds into a roadmap and will be available to the wider sector as pilots at a later date
Our Lab partners will benefit from early access, free testing, and discounts on new tools.
Will I need to pay for ongoing use of anything we build in Labs?
Yes - but you’ll get a discount as an early adopter. If selected, joining a Lab is completely free, so if the Lab doesn’t deliver anything of value, there’s no ongoing commitment.
Is this only for Local Authorities?
No. Innovation Labs are open to all of our existing partners using Magic Notes, and we expect some to be only for non-LA organisations.
From conversations so far, working collaboratively with others in the sector is part of the appeal for everyone.
Can I suggest a new idea for a Lab?

Will every Lab build a product?
Innovation is never a straight line. We expect every Lab will build prototypes and test beta solutions. However, part of the Innovation Lab process will be learning, iterating and pivoting when things aren’t working.
We can’t guarantee to solve every problem - but we’ll work together to try!
